Hinge studio collaborated with the owner of Jet City Animal Clinic to transform a bland, 2800 sf urban commercial space into a unique animal clinic that blends a high-tech treatment center with a homey, comfortable environment. This clinic includes three exam rooms, a high-tech treatment room with x-ray, dental and surgery suites. The project utilizes a variety of salvaged elements – including doors, flooring, industrial lighting, and blown glass blocks – to create a balanced mix of new and reused materials. Retro wallpaper and furnishings, along with the bold use of colors, reflect this new veterinarian’s personality and style. Additionally, the client found salvaged blown glass blocks at an architectural supply store, which Hinge Studio combined with simple drywall and framing to create a striking yet cost-effective reception desk. The end result is an energetic and happy space that meets the needs of the owner and her clients.
