Brian grew up in Spokane and was fascinated with architecture, aviation, and auto racing as a child. After high school he attended flight school in the midwest and trained to be a commercial pilot before returning home to pursue architecture. He graduated from Washington State University with a BS in Architectural Studies and went on to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for his Master of Architecture degree.
The first fifteen years of his career were spent working on mixed-use housing projects throughout Seattle. When he arrived at Hinge it was with a desire to work with great people who focus on smaller projects, the type that initially drew him to architecture.
Brian currently resides in the Greenwood/Phinney neighborhood. He loves running, cycling, and exploring the world with his wife Cora and dog Samson.
