Brian grew up in Spokane WA and was fascinated with airplanes, auto racing, and design as a child. He attended flight school and trained to be a commercial pilot at the University of North Dakota before returning home to pursue architecture at Washington State University. He graduated with a BS in Architectural Studies and then moved back to the Midwest, earning his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
The first fifteen years of his career were spent in Seattle leading the design on several mixed-use housing projects throughout the city. When he arrived at Hinge it was with a desire to focus on smaller projects in a collaborative environment.
Brian resides in the Belltown neighborhood. He loves running, cycling, and exploring the world with his wife and two dogs.
